Define an entry before choosing an amount
Our milestone is a dated provider-reported event. It is not an independently audited payout, a testimonial or a claim about the largest outcome anywhere. That definition controls the fields we publish and the language we use around them.
Start with the direct announcement. Retain its URL, publisher, publication date, named game, network and event date if one is stated. Record currency and precision exactly enough to explain what the provider reported. If the source gives only a month, do not invent a day.
Preserve conversion and rounding
A euro equivalent is different from a payout denominated in euros. A rounded headline is different from a more precise figure in the body. The record should explain which representation it uses and preserve any qualification that affects interpretation.
The WowPot record here uses an explicitly reported EUR equivalent. We do not reverse-engineer an exchange rate or infer an original currency from the operator’s location. The source does not establish those fields.
An amount does not supply a biography
Do not invent the recipient’s plans, emotions, profession or playing history. Even a genuine provider quotation may be promotional. A factual event can be recorded without retelling a “life changed overnight” narrative or implying that such an outcome is typical.
We omit identities and personal stories from our initial ledger. An editorial illustration beside an entry is conceptual art. It does not show the reported person, casino, winning screen or event, and it is labelled accordingly.
Corrections belong to the record
If a source changes, retain a note describing the material correction and its date. A broken source should trigger review, not replacement with an unsourced recycled figure. A source check can be refreshed while the original event and publication dates stay intact.
Our initial ledger is deliberately small. It does not claim completeness, rank every network or imply that an absent title has never paid an award. One well-qualified observation is more useful than a long table with fabricated detail. Use the methodology page to understand the inclusion rule and send corrections to the editorial desk.

Interpretation and checklists are the editorial desk’s analysis of the linked sources. No material corrections recorded. Suggest a correction.
